What is the best thing about Magdalene?
I think the best thing about Magdalene is definitely how friendly everyone is here – not only the students, but also the lovely porters and domestic staff. It was one of the first things I noticed when I came up as a fresher – everybody is always happy to say hello.
What is your favourite place in College?
My favourite place in college is by the river at the back of the Lutyens Building. It is so beautiful at all times of the year – frosty in winter, and incredibly pretty in spring. You also get to see the swans and geese!
What do you do in your spare time/what is your favourite way to relax?
My favourite way to relax is usually just by going to a friend’s room for tea or wine. It’s a nice way to chill out and chat, although we often also take advantage of Magdalene’s proximity to the Maypole.
What do you most like about Cambridge in general?
I like the fact that it’s quite a small city, and you always see people you know in the street. I also really love how vibrant the theatre scene is here, as I go to see a lot of shows, and have even directed one this year.
What made you choose Magdalene?
I chose Magdalene because I thought it was nice and small, I liked the fact that it’s by the river, and I really love red brick! I was also influenced by the fact that Parnell went here.
Describe Magdalene in three words?
Small. Friendly. Pretty.
Describe yourself in three words?
Chatty Friendly. Interested.
Why did you choose to study your course?
I chose Classics because I really like the breadth the course offers. I am currently in 1A, after having done the Prelim Year, and Cambridge was the only place I could study both Latin and Greek from scratch.
