Gifts to Magdalene help us to admit the brightest and best students regardless of their financial circumstances.Your donations allow us to offer the best possible education for our students; to support our unique College teaching system and provide more bursaries; and to maintain the fabric of our historic buildings.
The College is a registered charity (charity number 1137542; HMRC number X59426) and this allows UK and US tax-payers to make tax efficient gifts to the College.

Supporting the College
There are a number of different areas where your donations can assist Magdalene:
Gifts to General Purposes allow us to respond to immediate needs, be that provision of bursaries and hardship grants for students, upgrading our College facilities, and further investment in our teaching provision.
Magdalene is committed to ensuring that no student should be deterred from applying to the University because of financial considerations, and that no students should have to leave because of financial difficulties. We aim to give financial support as needed to both undergraduates and postgraduates. The cost of supporting a full bursary for 3 years with gift –aid is £12,000 as this sum is topped up with an additional £3000 from the Government under the gift-aid scheme. Higher rate tax payers are able to reclaim the difference of the rate of tax they pay and basic rate which means that supporting a student with £5000 per year for three years will cost the donor £9,000. Eligible Students from households with family incomes of £25,000 or less will receive £5,000 per annum from this year onwards to alleviate financial concerns and help mitigate the loss of the government non-repayable grant.
With your help, the College was able to award over £200,000 in bursaries to students in need last year
Magdalene, together with other Colleges, is expanding its talented graduate student numbers from the UK and around the world in order to sustain the Collegiate University's world-changing research. As public funding for graduate students is diminishing, we are increasingly dependent on our Members and friends for support.
Two to one supervisions ensure that our students are able to achieve their academic potential. Continued investment in the supervision system has helped to produce the excellent results that have been achieved in recent years.
Participation in the wide variety of extra-curricular activities on offer at the College is what helps to shape the environment at Magdalene, enhances our students’ time here, and creates the special bonds and friendships which often last a life time.
Junior Research Fellowships for young academics launching their careers are vital to the University's overall research effort, and internationally distinguished senior scholars who come to Magdalene as Visiting Fellows enhance the academic quality of the College.
Your donations support teaching, research and facilities for future generations of Magdalene students and inspires the brightest and best to apply regardless of their financial background, if you would like to make a gift please click here.
