historically, the college's clubs and societies have been funded via the amalgamation clubs fund which, for many years, received an annual grant as part of the local educational authorities' college fee settlement. however, the decline of such funding in recent years has seriously undermined our ability to sustain, let alone extend, the level of support offered to clubs and societies to the extent that many now struggle to survive.

it is clear that many alumni look back on their pursuit of recreational activities as amongst the most memorable and formative of their many magdalene experiences. the wyvern trust is dedicated to ensuring that such opportunities remain open for generations to come.
