magdalene was the first college to offer instrumental awards to talented undergraduate musicians and is proud to include amongst its alumni a long roster of distinguished thespians of the likes of michael redgrave and julian fellowes. it is appropriate then that the college is currently home to an enormous fund of musical and dramatic talent. this talent finds outlets both within college and outside it. magdalene men and women are prominent in the wider university's orchestras and theatre groups but also continue to enrich the college's cultural life through a number of societies the most prominent of which are:
