in 2009 cambridge will be 800 years old. 2005/6 saw the launch in cambridge, london, san francisco, new york and hong kong of a major anniversary fundraising campaign. the 800th campaign, which is embraced by all of the colleges as well as the university's departments and faculties, has set itself a target of £1 billion to be reached by 2011.
