cheques, bank transfers, caf vouchers, cc: single gifts can be made to the college via a cheque sent to the alumni & development office, made payable to magdalene college. for those with caf or sovereign accounts, a voucher can be sent to the college for us to complete. it is not possible to claim gift aid on gifts made via caf vouchers. the alumni & development office can also accept donations by credit card (all major cards except amex are accepted). this can be effected over the telephone. if you wish to transfer any funds direct to magdalene’s account please contact the alumni & development office for the relevant iban number. self-assessment tax return: if you are a self-assessed tax payer you can use your tax return form to donate all or part of any repayment due to you to a charity. the donation will be sent directly to the college. you can also choose to gift aid the donation: the college’s unique code for this purpose is: LAS31YG transfer of shares: if the value of your own investments has risen (except for your principle residence and its contents), you are taxed at up to 40% on this rise when you sell them (subject to an exemption of about £8,200 in aggregate in a year). if shares are donated to charity, not only is this capital gains tax avoided, but you may also deduct the value of the shares from your own taxable income. download single gift & gift aid form |
