magdalene e-papers launched: today sees the publication on-line of the first in an occasional series of magdalene e-papers. the series will feature essays by fellows of the college about topics of wider interest to members. we are delighted to launch the series with professor nicholas boyle's thoughts on american-european relations. the talk was first given to a group of magdalene members and friends of the college in alexandria, virginia in late september. we feel sure that readers will agree that it deserves wider circulation and that it makes a splendid start to the new series. professor boyle's essay can be viewed or downloaded here.

christopher greenwood: christopher greenwood it was announced on thursday that professor christopher greenwood (professor of international law at the lse) and former official fellow and director of studies in law at magdalene, has been elected a judge of the international court of justice. the international court is the principle judicial organ of the united nations. further details can be found here
