appropriately for a college which is proud to include benjamin britten amongst its honorary fellows, magdalene has now forged a link with the britten sinfonia which enables college members to enjoy special privileges at certain britten sinfonia concerts in london. these include a pre-concert wine reception and interval drinks.

celebratory concert that features works by composers who all have significant anniversaries during 2009.

7 november 2009 dialogues

following their acclaimed collaboration at aldeburgh festival in 2008 the partnership between pierre-laurent aimard and britten sinfonia continues with this performance focussed on the works of haydn and elliot carter.

8 february 2010 britten in america

a programme of music from both sides of the atlantic that delves into the subtle and rich sonorities of strings and voice, featuring the celebrated tenor mark padmore.

18 may 2010 imogen cooper directs beethoven

britten sinfonia’s acclaimed cycle of beethoven concertos with imogen cooper, which has received glowing reviews and audience praise, comes to its grand finale on this night.

all concerts take place at the queen elizabeth hall, south bank centre, london. the drinks reception starts at 6.30pm and the concert at 7.30pm. guests are welcome.
