the association essay prize for 2007

the magdalene sssociation is once again offered a prize of £500 for an essay on some aspect of magdalene life. the prize was open to all members of the college, resident & non-resident, including undergraduates, their partners, fellows, staff and all friends of magdalene.

the rules of the composition allowed for " an essay on some aspect of magdalene history or notable alumni (“history” includes architecture, art, artefacts etc); a memoir of  time at magdalene; or a piece of creative writing inspired by, or linked to, magdalene.

the entries were judged by a panel comprising the editor of the college magazine, mr miles broadbent & mr david leonard.

the winner of the competition was dr peter lewis for an essay entitled "baiting the master". he will be presented with his prize at the associaiton lunch on 3 july 2008. his essay will appear in due course in the college magazine.
